LOCATION : The preferred location is our Baton Rouge, LA office, with a hybrid schedule of 2-3 days per week onsite. Alternatively, the role can be based at our Juno Beach, FL office, also following a hybrid 2-3 day onsite workweek.

OVERVIEW:

The Release Engineer will coordinate various teams, track progress, manage risks and resolve conflicts to ensure successful product releases. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, experience with CI/CD tools, and keen attention to detail. This position serves as a critical bridge between development and operations teams, requiring both technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills to coordinate successful product launches.

The Release Engineer will:
  • Plan and coordinate software releases across multiple environments.
  • Automate build, test, and deployment pipelines.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve deployment issues.
  • Maintain release documentation and procedures.
  • Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams.
  • Monitor release progress and communicate status to stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with release management policies.
  • Implement process improvements for release efficiency.
  • Manage version control and branching strategies.
  • Support rollback and hotfix procedures as needed.
  • Be available for and participate in off-hours and emergency production support requests.

Other Duties:
  • Contribute to RFPs and infrastructure maintenance tasks.
  • Contribute to project work planning.
  • Coordinate with IT and DevOps teams to maintain reliable deployment environments.
  • Participate in CAB meetings to discuss release scope and roadblocks.


SECURITY AND PRIVACY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Individuals working for DSS will be subject to security and privacy requirements as explained in HIPAA, FedRAMP, and NIST 800-53. Additionally, they are required to undergo specific FedRAMP training to ensure compliance with all associated controls and responsibilities in the day-to-day performance of their duties. Individuals working in departments that are considered to be in the high-risk category will be required to undergo advanced training based on their role and level of access. Individuals with access to modify data and the configuration baseline will require further training.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+ years' experience in software release engineering or related field.
  • Proven ability to manage complex release cycles across multiple environments.
  • Background in DevOps practices and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in technologies and project management tools like Microsoft Project, Adobe, Jira, Azure DevOps (ADO), and Confluence.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desired:
  • Certification in relevant tools and practices essential for modern release engineering.
  • Experience with Git to merge code, manage branches, clean history, resolve conflicts.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and containerization technologies. Strong knowledge of Azure cloud services, including networking, storage, and security.


EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field.

COMPENSATION:

Salary at Juno Health, a division of DSS, Inc., is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $80,000.00 TO $95,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Juno Health. total compensation package for employees.
