World Wide Technology is looking for a Performance Engineer. This role is part of WWT s Strategic Resourcing services and is a contract role. The candidate will be supporting a WWT customer and will be employed by one of WWT s preferred partners. The partner will provide full compensation and benefit information prior to employment with the partner.

Rate/Salary: A reasonable estimate of the current pay range for this position is $40.00 to $45.00 hourly on W2 hourly. Actual pay will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs, and will be set by your employer. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in base pay.
Performance Engineer

Extensive Experience in End-to-End Performance Engineering
- Expertise across all phases of Performance Engineering activities including Requirement Gathering, Planning, Scripting, Execution, Analysis, Troubleshooting, Tuning, and Reporting to evaluate and improve application performance.
Core Performance Testing & Engineering Skills (Primary Must Have)
- JMeter Proficient in developing and executing performance testing scripts and scenarios, with the ability to enhance/customize using advanced scripting techniques.
- Dynatrace Strong expertise in deep-dive performance monitoring and analysis, providing actionable insights to diagnose and resolve bottlenecks.
- Performance Testing Skilled in defining workload models, simulating production-like scenarios, executing large-scale performance tests, and analyzing results to ensure system stability, scalability, and reliability.
- Non-Functional Requirements & Architecture Solid understanding of NFRs, system architecture, and technology stacks to ensure comprehensive performance coverage.
Advanced Troubleshooting & Optimization (Secondary Good to Have)
- Splunk, Log Analysis & Datadog Skilled in log-based diagnostics and observability for identifying and resolving complex performance issues.
- Performance Tuning & Optimization Ability to fine-tune application, database, and infrastructure components for optimal performance.
- SRE Skillsets Exposure to Chaos Engineering, Observability, Monitoring production workloads, and contributing towards transition into an SRE role.
- Test Data & Virtualization Ability to define test data strategy, collaborate with TDM teams, and develop Virtual Services using Mountebank for performance testing.
- Client-Side & End-User Experience Experience with tools to measure and enhance end-user performance experience.
Collaboration & Communication
- Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams including developers, architects, operations, and business stakeholders to analyze results, recommend optimizations, and drive performance improvements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering measurable performance gains.
