Job Overview:
We are seeking a proficient Application Developer to support the Medical Assistance Transportation Program (MATP) Policy, Program, and Support area. This role will focus on developing and maintaining applications that enable efficient management, monitoring, and reporting of MATP services. The developer will work closely with policy experts, program managers, and technical teams to build solutions that align with MATP s regulatory requirements and operational needs.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and tools that support MATP program operations, policy implementation, and data reporting
- Collaborate with MATP policy and program staff to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions that improve program efficiency and compliance
- Develop user-friendly interfaces, automated workflows, and data integration solutions that facilitate transportation service coordination and oversight
- Ensure applications support accurate tracking of transportation providers, service usage, and compliance with MATP guidelines
- Participate in the analysis of program data to identify trends, generate reports, and provide actionable insights to program stakeholders
- Conduct thorough testing (unit, system, and user acceptance) to ensure high-quality deliverables
- Maintain technical documentation, including system designs, user manuals, and change logs
- Troubleshoot and resolve application issues, optimizing performance and reliability
- Ensure adherence to security standards, privacy policies, and regulatory compliance specific to Medicaid and transportation services
- Stay current with technology trends, tools, and best practices to continuously improve application development processes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field
- 3 5 years of application development experience, preferably supporting Medicaid programs or public sector services
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, C#, .NET, Python, or JavaScript
- Experience with front-end frameworks (e.g., Angular, React) and back-end development
- Proficient with database design and querying (SQL Server, Oracle, or similar)
- Familiarity with Medicaid program policies, particularly transportation-related services, is a plus
- Ability to translate complex policy and program requirements into technical solutions
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
- Experience working in Agile or Scrum development environments
- Knowledge of data security, privacy regulations, and compliance requirements in healthcare IT
