Travel Technician - Nationwide Deployment

Summary:
We are hiring Travel Technicians for nationwide assignments involving the installation of low-voltage cabling and network equipment, including IP cameras, wireless access points, routers, and switches. This role requires 100% travel, with project durations ranging from 2 to 8 months. Technicians will work in pairs, typically 6 days per week, and must be self-motivated and reliable.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Install and terminate low-voltage cabling (CAT5, CAT6) in commercial environments.
  • Set up network hardware such as switches, routers, WAPs, and CCTV systems.
  • Follow installation guidelines and safety codes when pulling and securing cable.
  • Perform conduit work, drill through concrete, and install cable support structures (e.g., j-hooks, racks).
  • Test and troubleshoot cable systems and network components.
  • Maintain clean and organized cabling according to safety standards.
  • Complete work orders and manage tools and equipment responsibly.
  • Adhere to OSHA and client-specific safety protocols, including PPE requirements.
  • Operate scissor lifts and work at heights as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Prior experience as a Data Cable Technician.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the U.S. and attend orientation in Lowell, AR.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in confined spaces.
  • Comfortable working overnight shifts (7 PM - 7 AM, 5 days/week).
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (no DUI/DWI in past 3 years).
  • Familiarity with tools such as punch down tools, toners/probes, pliers, and screwdrivers.
  • Must provide steel-toed boots; other PPE provided.

Top Skills:
Low voltage installation, WAP setup, CCTV, cable pulling, Cat5/Cat6, troubleshooting, access control.

This is a Contract position based out of Lowell, AR.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.
