Senior Microsoft 365 Administrator
Clearance Requirement: U.S. Citizen
Location: Herndon, VA (Hybrid minimum 3 days/week onsite; Locals Only)

Overview
We are seeking a Senior Microsoft 365 Administrator to serve as the technical lead and subject matter expert for SAP NS2's Microsoft 365 environment. In this strategic role, you will drive modernization initiatives, oversee platform upgrades, and ensure secure, scalable, and reliable collaboration solutions across Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and related services.

The ideal candidate brings deep Microsoft 365 expertise, enterprise project leadership experience, and a passion for optimizing cloud-based productivity tools to meet evolving business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Microsoft 365 upgrades, migrations, and modernization projects.

  • Architect, configure, and maintain secure, resilient M365 services (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive).

  • Implement best practices for identity, access, and compliance (Conditional Access, DLP, Sensitivity Labels, Defender for O365).

  • Manage tenant-level configurations, licensing strategies, and hybrid integrations.

  • Proactively monitor system health, performance, and compliance using PowerShell, Graph API, and compliance dashboards.

  • Develop governance standards, documentation, and disaster recovery procedures.

  • Mentor junior team members and act as an escalation point for complex issues.

  • Evaluate and recommend emerging M365 technologies to align with strategic goals.

  • Deliver end-user guidance and training to promote adoption and productivity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 5 7+ years of enterprise-level Microsoft 365 administration and engineering experience.

  • Proven track record leading M365 implementations, upgrades, and major configuration projects.

  • Expertise in Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Azure AD, and security & compliance tools.

  • Advanced experience with Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate).

  • Strong PowerShell scripting and familiarity with Graph API.

  • Experience in hybrid environments integrating on-prem Active Directory.

  • Strong understanding of AI capabilities within Microsoft 365.

  • Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.

Desired Skills

  • Microsoft certifications (MS-102, SC-401, or equivalent).

  • SharePoint Online administration and customization.

  • Defender for O365 implementation experience.

  • Information Protection, Sensitivity Labels, and DLP policy configuration.

  • Data Governance (Retention labels, records management, audit logs).

  • Compliance monitoring and incident response via Microsoft Purview.

  • Scripting and automation (PowerShell, JavaScript/TypeScript, Graph API).
