Data Steward/ data governance 100% Remote

Skilled Data Professional with expertise in data modeling, migration, ETL development, and cloud data platforms.
The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, executing, and optimizing data solutions, while leading complex migration initiatives such as ERP/CRM modernization and legacy-to-cloud transitions. This role requires strong technical skills, a problem-solving mindset, and the ability to collaborate with business stakeholders to deliver high-quality, data-driven outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain Customer Master Data Management (MDM) solutions to unify customer data, resolve duplicates, define golden records, and enforce governance policies.
  • Drive and execute end-to-end data migration initiatives, including ERP/CRM migrations and system modernization projects with a focus on planning, data mapping and profiling, extraction, transformation, loading, and validation to ensure accuracy, integrity, and seamless transition.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and deliver insights that support data-driven decision-making.
  • Design, develop, and optimize conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support data migration, warehousing, and analytics initiatives.
  • Design and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to enable reliable data ingestion, transformation, and delivery across multiple systems.
  • Implement and maintain data warehousing solutions, including schema design, performance tuning, and metadata management.
  • Write complex SQL queries and leverage Python or R for data processing, analytics, and automation tasks.
  • Design and support API integrations and streaming data pipelines to support both real-time and batch workloads.
  • Apply master data management (MDM) principles across multiple data sources to ensure consistency, accuracy, and reliability of enterprise data.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance, privacy, and security policies, embedding best practices into all workflows.
  • Document migration strategies, data processes, and system architectures to ensure transparency, maintainability, and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or related field.
  • Proven experience of at-least 6 years or more in a data-related role (e.g., Data Engineer, Data Analyst, Data Scientist, ETL Engineer).
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (Python or R).
  • Experience in designing and implementing data models (conceptual, logical, and physical) to support business processes and analytical needs.
  • Hands-on experience with ETL, API integrations, and streaming data pipelines.
  • Expertise in data migration (ERP/CRM migrations, system modernization, and legacy-to-cloud).
  • Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Google Cloud Platform; knowledge of big data technologies a plus).
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing, master data management, and metadata management.
  • Familiarity with data governance, privacy, and security best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
