job summary:

Our client seeks highly qualified candidates to fill the Project Manager position within the DSHS Environmental Epidemiology and Disease Registries Section. This position will perform senior level consultative services and technical assistance work in the area of DSHS project management for program related activities. Work involves overseeing DSHS priority initiatives and managing special projects utilizing project management best practices in coordination with agency business and program units. Duties include: assessing, analyzing, planning, researching, coordinating and evaluating project management implementation, assuring the use of best practices and standards, assisting in the coordination and optimization of DSHS operations and program functions and providing recommendations.

responsibilities:

. This position is responsible for maintaining coordination across numerous related initiatives and leading special projects as assigned by agency leadership. These responsibilities include: developing project management tools; maintaining project management data on critical and major projects; reporting progress on key projects to executive/senior staff; providing recommendations regarding project management practices to agency leadership, and reporting the status of key projects and accomplishments.


This position will also work with staff to initiate, sponsor, manage or participate in projects to maximize the success of multiple and diverse projects. Works under limited direction with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment




qualifications:

Minimum Requirements for Candidate Selection


Analytical & Reporting Skills (8 Years Required)


Ability to research, gather, assemble, correlate, and analyze facts; to devise solutions to problems; and to prepare concise reports.


Ability to analyze and solve complex and difficult problems and prioritize information and issues.


Ability to develop and deliver reports identifying gaps in technology and operational effectiveness.


?? Process & Documentation Skills (8 Years Required)


Skilled in effectively mapping business processes and identifying process improvements.


Skilled in planning and facilitating meetings and group problem solving.


Develops or contributes to the development of Statements of Work (SOW), project charters, design documentation, test plans, risk assessments, project budgets, schedules, work plans, resources requirements, and cost estimates and projections.


Project Management & Stakeholder Relations (8 Years Required)


Skilled in project management of multiple projects with experience in implementations across large organizations.


Experience includes developing and managing project plans and documenting risks, issues, and contingency plans.


Ensuring resolution of issues and removal of project barriers.


Experience developing and maintaining strong relationships with multiple project sponsors and stakeholders.


Must possess strong communication and presentation skills and strong teamwork skills.


Preferred Skills and Experience


?? Communication & Reporting (Preferred)


Experience developing written materials, including briefing documents, administrative reports, and PowerPoint presentations, for diverse audiences, including senior and executive management (7 Years Preferred).


Ability to appropriately summarize and escalate issues and develop and present weekly status updates (written and verbal) (5 Years Preferred).


Ability to conduct regular project team status meetings.


Compiles and distributes project information, project status reports, and budget (5 Years Preferred).
