Description
We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Desktop Support Technician in Waukegan, IL. In this role, you will provide technical assistance and support for desktop systems, software, and hardware. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Windows environments, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 desktop support for Windows 10/11 environments, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues
  • Support and maintain systems such as Active Directory, Microsoft Office 365, MS Teams, OneDrive, and Bomgar/RDP
  • Manage and resolve incidents and service requests using the ServiceNow ticketing system
  • Monitor and manage individual work queues to ensure timely resolution of VDI-related issues and service requests
  • Communicate effectively with end-users to understand issues and provide clear, concise solutions
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures
  • Identify and recommend improvements to technical processes and workflows
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through professional and responsive support

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11) and desktop support best practices
  • Experience with Active Directory, PowerShell, Office 365, MS Teams, OneDrive, and remote support tools like Bomgar or RDP
  • Familiarity with VMware environments is a plus
  • Proficiency with ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong customer service orientation with a proactive and adaptable mindset
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, or similar
  • Experience supporting virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI)
  • Knowledge of IT security principles and best practices

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
