Role Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced, hands-on techno-functional consultant with deep expertise in telecom billing and revenue systems. This role blends advanced data analysis with functional design leadership. The ideal candidate is skilled at using SQL-driven data exploration to develop functional designs, perform gap analyses, and define clear, actionable requirements for revenue and billing system implementations.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years experience in the telecommunications industry.
- 7+ years experience with telecom billing and revenue systems (BRIM, Amdocs, CSG, ICOMS, Zuora, CABS, legacy billing systems, etc.).
- Advanced SQL capability, with the ability to perform complex, ad hoc data exploration across large-scale datasets.
- Demonstrated ability to use data analysis to guide functional design, define requirements, and validate end-to-end billing or revenue processes.
- Proven experience independently analyzing disparate data sources and solving ambiguous design-related problems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present findings and design proposals directly to executives.
- Hands-on, detail-oriented analyst with strong techno-functional experience capable of understanding both the data layer and the business logic behind billing and revenue processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform deep analysis of telecom billing, revenue, and customer data using advanced SQL queries.
- Conduct ad hoc data investigations to uncover system behaviors, process gaps, and requirements-critical insights.
- Mine and interpret large datasets to support functional design decisions for new billing or revenue system capabilities.
- Drive functional design, leveraging data to map as-is vs. to-be processes and clarify integration points across systems.
- Perform gap analysis to identify missing functionality, process inconsistencies, or data issues impacting billing and revenue outcomes.
- Translate analytical findings into functional requirements used by development teams, architects, and system integrators.
- Work across billing, revenue, and financial processes to validate data, reconcile variations, and ensure accuracy across systems.
- Strong techno-functional thinker who naturally connects data behavior with business intent and system design.
- Present analysis and design recommendations directly to senior leadership in clear, concise, and actionable formats.
- Operate with minimal direction, proactively identifying issues, risks, and opportunities for improved system design.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in revenue assurance, financial analytics, or large-scale billing transformations.
- Familiarity with SQL platforms such as BigQuery, Oracle, or Teradata.
- Knowledge of order-to-cash workflows, pricing, billing rules, and collections processes.
- Experience supporting data migrations, audit activities, or system conversion programs.
