Job Details

#WeAreCrowdStrike and our mission is to stop breaches. As a global leader in cybersecurity, our team changed the game. Since our inception, our market leading cloud-native platform has offered unparalleled protection against the most sophisticated cyberattacks. We work on large scale distributed systems, processing over 1 trillion events a day with a petabyte of RAM deployed in our Cassandra clusters - and this traffic is growing daily. We're looking for people with limitless passion, a relentless focus on innovation and a fanatical commitment to developing and shaping our cybersecurity platform. Consistently recognized as a top workplace, CrowdStrike is committed to cultivating an inclusive, remote-first culture that offers people the autonomy and flexibility to balance the needs of work and life while taking their career to the next level. Interested in working for a company that sets the standard and leads with integrity? Join us on a mission that matters - one team, one fight.

About the Role:

CrowdStrike Falcon Host is a two-component security product. One component is a "sensor": a driver installed on client machines that observes system activity and recognizes malicious behavior, then provides on-box prevention capability and remote telemetry to the Falcon Host cloud. The sensor processes thousands of events per second to provide deep visibility into operations on the endpoint, and performs rich correlation and computation to identify malicious events and blocks malicious activity.

The cloud component aggregates sensor telemetry for each customer's network, correlates malicious behavior across multiple machines, and presents our customers' operations teams with a prioritized summary of the threats detected in their environments.

We're looking for an Engineering Manager to manage the Windows Sensor engineering team within our growing Endpoint Security product group. In this role, you'll work closely with the team to define and deliver on our product roadmap as well as coordinate and collaborate with other product groups within the company on Windows sensor related architecture, releases, support, and development best practices.

As part of the cross-functional Endpoint Security Product group, you'll work alongside your team to design, enhance, and build numerous customer facing features within our CrowdStrike Falcon product line including multiple static analysis based detection and prevention capabilities, customer configured behavioral detections (custom IOAs), automated remediation, firewall management, and USB device control.

We're a remote-first workplace that leverages team productivity tools like Slack, Zoom, and Jira for day-to-day communication. Travel for face-to-face meetings is occasionally required and is typically used as an effective way to kick-off new projects or collaborate when working on larger initiatives.

What You'll Do:

If joining CrowdStrike and becoming a key leader on a team that builds the most innovative endpoint security solution in the world sounds appealing, then you can help us by:
  • Being a strong people manager with an open and collaborative management style
  • Being adept at working with a distributed and remote engineering team
  • Helping grow your team by:
  • Providing technical knowledge, mentoring, and guidance to your direct reports
  • Hiring and onboarding new team members
  • Managing staffing across features and projects to encourage individual growth and cross training
  • Monitoring execution and quality of team projects
  • Providing thought leadership on Windows sensor related architecture, releases, support, and development best practices by collaborating with other teams across the company

What You'll Need:
  • 3+ years of experience managing and scaling product engineering teams
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to ship major features and releases
  • Computer science degree or commensurate experience developing system software on Windows OS
  • Knowledge of low-level Windows OS internals including some experience with Windows OS Kernel Development in C/C++
  • Some relevant experience with debugging memory corruptions, process contentions, and/or system performance
  • Solid understanding of software development best practices from appropriate testing paradigms to effective peer code reviews and resilient architectures
  • Able to communicate effectively across functions and throughout the organization
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, test-driven, collaborative, and iterative product development environment
  • Passionate about solving problems and delivering product features to customers

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Background in scalable, light-weight, and highly performant systems
  • Background in designing and building software with shared cross-platform code and deliverables (Windows, macOS, Linux)
  • Knowledge and/or prior experience in Cybersecurity
  • Familiarity and experience with Agile process

Benefits of Working at CrowdStrike:
  • Remote-first culture
  • Market leader in compensation and equity awards
  • Competitive vacation and flexible working arrangements
  • Comprehensive and inclusive health benefits
  • Physical and mental wellness programs
  • Paid parental leave, including adoption
  • A variety of professional development and mentorship opportunities
  • Offices with stocked kitchens when you need to fuel innovation and collaboration
