Job Title: Process Crane Operator Weekend Days
Location: Charlotte, NC, 28273
Shift: 5:30AM - 6:00PM
Pay Rate: $23/hr
Duration: 12 Months + Possibility to extend
Description:
The primary purpose of this position is to set up and operate equipment and processes for phases of transition manufacturing. This equipment has a good deal of automation included in their operation.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate a multitude of equipment as follows:
o Phase 1: Robotic Grit Blast, Furnaces (air and vacuum), Robotic Coating Booths, Laser Hole Cutter, cosmetic grit blast, bar code readers and etchers.
o Phase 2: Robotic Trim Welder, Press, Vacuum Furnace, bar code readers, manual welders.
o Phase 3: Belt Sanders, laser cutters, Hermele milling machines, Plating equipment, Hot Press Furnace, Vacuum Furnace, bar code readers, C-scan.
Work from manufacturing information, drawings, and written and/or verbal instructions: interpret detailed drawings/sketches, blueprints, manufacturers' specifications, etc., and determine necessary tools to perform required machining operations.
Using material handling devices (Jib & B/C cranes and forklifts), load/unload parts from machines and/or assist crane operator.
Perform minor operations on equipment such as changing nozzles, verifying oil levels, and checking filters.
Complete detailed records and other information, as required by systems (Operator Verification, product identification, etc.).
Assist quality organization with measuring, testing, charting of operational information and/or recording data.
Perform a variety of in-process and integrity checks (electronic or manual), as required, to maintain specific drawing tolerances.
Maintain own work area: preventative maintenance, clean and return tooling, attachments, fixtures, tables, etc.
Qualifications & Skills:
2 to 4 years' experience with processes and procedures of set-ups, operations, and the various products, tools, and equipment used for one phase of manufacturing in a transitions department.
2 to 3 years of applied trades training, working with stainless alloys; use of blueprints, metrology, visual weld inspection, and understanding of electrical schematics.
Ability to use close tolerance measuring devices (calipers, gauges, micrometers, etc.) and perform measurement conversions.
Ability to read, write, understand, and follow verbal and/or written instructions.
Must be able to complete forklift, crane operator, and LPI certifications.
Computer knowledge required.
U.S. Citizenship or Canada Citizenship required.

Must demonstrate significant judgment, initiative, and ingenuity in working independently on complex jobs.
Ability to devise methods and procedures to meet unusual conditions and assist in solving complex problems.
Must have good manual dexterity for CNC and manual equipment, grasping and handling tools.
Must be able to bend, stoop, crouch, stretch, reach, stand, walk, and rotate body; lift/carry/push/pull 5 25 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
Normal or corrected vision, hearing, and ability to smell required to detect machinery operation and safety hazards.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a plant/production environment with noise, dirt, oil, grease, solvents, vibration, lasers, chemicals, odors, and fumes.
PPE required: safety shoes, safety glasses, respirator, earplugs, gloves, hard hat, apron, protective clothing, and mask.
Respirator fit test, hearing, and vision test may be required.
Care must be taken when operating forklifts, cranes, lifting equipment, and when handling sharp edges and flying chips.
