Target Internship Duration: May-Aug 2026 or June-Sept 2026.

Location: this position is fully in office, in Santa Clara, CA

The Team:

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is the first cloud built specifically for the enterprise. The team develops a suite of cloud infrastructure products that includes Compute products like Bare-Metal compute, Virtual Machines, Kubernetes Services, and Serverless Computing; Storage products like Block Store, Object Store and File Systems; Networking products like SDN, Load Balancers, and DNS; Security products like Key management and Identity systems; and Platform products like Notifications, Monitoring, and Streaming. Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

Data Scientist Intern responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Work on multiple stages of data science projects, including data pipeline, aggregation, feature engineering, modeling and visualization.
  • Develop models to build solutions to tackle real-world business problems
  • Interact with product and service teams to identify questions and issues for data analysis and experiments
  • Communicate your analysis findings to product, service, and business managers

What You'll Bring (Objective Minimum Qualifications):

To be considered for a Data Science Intern position in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), you must possess the Objective Minimum Qualifications (OMQs) below. Please ensure that your application clearly indicates that you meet these OMQs, either on your resume and/or by uploading additional documents such as a transcript.

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or an equivalent science/engineering field AND returning to the program after completion of the internship in Fall 2026.
  • Proficient (able to complete coding tasks without assistance) in two or more programming languages:
    • Python, Java, R, SQL, PL/SQL or similar programming languages
  • Demonstrated experience (projects, internships, coursework, research) with three or more of the following areas:
    • Probability and Statistics, Linear Algebra, Calculus, Computer Programming, Data Analysis, Data Visualization, Databases, Machine Learning, Big Data, Cloud Computing, Data Science, Business Intelligence
  • Have proven experience (internships, projects, coursework) working on at least two of the following areas:
    • Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Data Analysis & Data Wrangling, Data Visualization, Algorithms, Data Modeling, Data Mining, Big Data Query, Statistical Inference/Analysis
  • Reside in the United States and/or attend a university in the US.

US: Hiring Range in USD from $19.62 to $38.32 per hour; from: $40,800 to $79,700 per annum.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
