Position Summary:

We are seeking experienced and certified Senior Project Manager with 8+ years of experience leading Agile software and infrastructure projects, primarily in the public and education sectors. Skilled in SDLC, stakeholder management, and team leadership, with expertise in Power BI, Data Lake, and Scrum. Proven track record of delivering high-quality, strategic solutions aligned with organizational goals.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (May perform any or all of the following):

• The Senior Project Manager will report to the Assistant Director of the IT PMO and play a crucial role in delivering software applications and infrastructure for Texas's educational system.
• Responsibilities include leading Agile software development teams through the SDLC to ensure timely project delivery, meeting legislative and strategic priorities. The role requires strong leadership in Agile project management, preferably in education, and involves overseeing project staff and collaborating with various stakeholders.
• This role demands initiative, independent judgment, and the ability to perform advanced project management work.

Essential Functions

• Process Consistency (20%): Develop and evaluate processes to ensure consistent adherence, manage scope and schedule changes, and develop project budgets and plans.
• Deliverable Quality (20%): Monitor and measure application quality, identify improvement measures, and ensure deliverables meet agreements and budget constraints.
• Stakeholder Satisfaction (20%): Communicate with stakeholders, solicit feedback, and build strong relationships.
• Leadership (20%): Manage problems, resolve issues, identify and mitigate risks, and motivate the team to take ownership and improve efficiency.
• Vision (20%): Articulate the application and technology roadmap, coordinate project initiation and planning to meet strategic commitments.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• 8 years of experience required in Mastery of data analytics
• 4 years of experience Required in Using Power BI creating dashboards and interactive visual reports
• 4 years of experience Required in Creating, testing, and deploying Power BI Scripts (Python,M and DAX) as well as execute efficient deep analysis
• 4 years of experience preferred in Prior experience in data-related tasks is preferred
• 1 year of experience preferred with Source Control, Git/BitBucket is preferred
• 1 year of Previous experience preferred with SAS and its dataset (.sas7bdat) is preferred
• 1 year of Previous experience Preferred with Jira is preferre
• 1 year of Previous state experience is preferred
• 1 year of Previous experience with BI tools ( SAP, Tableau) is preferred

Knowledge and appreciation of project management theories and practices applied to complex projects.

Willingness and availability to work outside the regular work hours, as needed, to support project needs.

Understanding of school finance or state tax laws, such as property tax, homestead exemptions, school bonds
