  1. Job Summary

The Director of Network and Technology Services will provide support to over 50,000 employees, 1500 sites across North America while ensuring the availability of over 165 business critical applications at WM.

This role will work within a team that supports and enables WM business activities as an authority within the Networking space with direct experience with previous director experience and a consistent record of accomplishment leading teams within infrastructure space.

As the business leader, you will be responsible for adapting business needs into tangible direction for the downstream service teams and providing visibility and direction to the executives within WM. You will be the principal leader of your roadmap and long-term strategy. In partnership with other digital leaders, you will align our technology and trajectory with Network Planning, Operations, Automation, and Monitoring teams. As an ambassador for Networking and Mobility the leader is expected to partner with the extended business to deliver our industry-leading service suite.

As the principal owner of the space, the role will be expected to coach and mentor networking and mobility leaders, program managers, and senior technical staff with guidance and mentorship. The leader should be well-versed in technology strategy, technical trends, business trends, budgeting, long-term planning, organizational planning, performance management, and can run organizational programs.

This role requires close collaboration with various internal and external technology and business teams. A customer-obsessed attitude with excellent communication skills is a must.

  • Assist the Senior Director of Infrastructure and Technology in the execution of a comprehensive IT Operations strategy that supports business objectives.
  • Manage a team of highly skilled IT professionals, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Develop, manage, and lead regional network engineering teams.
  • Able to drive executive level communication including roadmaps, documents, and strategies
  • Build new group functions from the ground up, developing needed skills and capabilities.
  • Lead and own the long-term strategy for your area and contribute to the strategy for the wider organization.
  • Own the execution roadmap of the team managing required prioritization and alignment with the wider business.
  • Directly manage senior managers, Directors and skip level staff globally.
  • Directly lead the functional areas of network delivery, scaling, and leading design and implementation of our forward-looking network control plane.
  • Mentoring and coaching for all area leaders, senior technical staff, program managers with the ability to extend influence beyond their team.
  • Manage organizational planning, hiring, and performance management.
  • Manage leadership communication for their businesses, delivering strategies, execution plans, analysis and reporting.
  • Create presentations, documents and other artifacts required to communicate across the organization.
  • Ability to lead networking engineering architecture and design practices with technical programs, process improvements, and organizational management.
  • Ability to lead software development initiatives.
  • Partner with finance and other stakeholders for budget management, forecasting, and short-term planning.
  • Manage logistical challenges of complex technology introduction.
  • Contribute to the network product definition and advancement in cooperation with the product teams.
  • Manage project and technology short-term and long-term forecast for their technology domain.
  • Development of new, or modification to existing, programs, processes and methods needed to run the organization and the team s output.
  • Thorough understanding and ability to guide region area networking, relationships, partnerships, and business strategy.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements and assess their potential impact on our business.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure digital systems meet the organization's needs.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.

  1. Education and Experience

Required: Bachelor s Degree in Business management or Management Information Systems or equivalent

ITIL v3 a plus
