Job Details

PURPOSE:

The Infrastructure Engineer Sr is a key IT infrastructure team member responsible for the cloud, data center, and distribution center environments. This role is responsible for the design and engineering with the delivery of effective, scalable, and secure IT infrastructure solutions. Additionally, this role acts as a mentor and coach in the infrastructure function and works to remove constraints to deliver solutions.

The Infrastructure Engineer Sr proactively addresses problems and gaps with existing processes and documentation. In addition, resolves escalations quickly and addresses root causes and leads solutions and services delivery.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Infrastructure Engineering:

  • Gather and document IT infrastructure and security requirements by partnering with Cybersecurity and other technical teams
  • Provide advanced technical leadership and knowledge transfer for domain-specific concepts to peers and external teams
  • Assist in the development of technical standards and overall architecture
  • Partner with IT teams in the development of automation tools and concepts
  • Collaborate on projects, systems and issues of varying complexity surrounding IT infrastructure planning, configuration, and optimization
  • Lead the evaluation, selection, implementation, and optimization of enterprise infrastructure solutions, ensuring alignment with the existing tech stack and scalability as the organization evolves
  • Participate in project definition, approach and timely delivery of engineering responsibilities
  • Apply knowledge technical expertise in decision making and in the resolution of problems which are highly complex and technical in nature
  • Provide preventative maintenance measures and self-healing methods to ensure incidents don't re-occur in the environment

Coach & Mentoring:

  • Mentor and coach engineers, administrators, and developers to ensure infrastructure standards and requirements best practices are followed
  • Informally leads solutions action plans
  • Performs other relevant job duties as required
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Certifications/or Equivalent combination of education training and experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline or a combination of relevant IT experience and education

Experience:

  • 6-10 years professional experience working in large-scale networking environments (5,000 employees or large-scale service provider minimum)
  • 6-10 years professional experience designing virtual desktop images, deployments, automation, and maintenance
  • 6-10 years with Citrix CVADs/Daas/Cloud supporting thousands of users, delivering persistent and non-persistent desktops, hosted applications with proficient Citrix policy management implementations in a Citrix MCS environment for both on-prem, cloud and hybrid environments (Citrix PVS and NetScaler's)
  • 3+ years working with managed service providers
  • Experience designing Windows Server Images, automating server build processes, maintenance, and securing a large fleet of virtual machines
  • Experience supporting VMware ESXi/VCenters technologies with proficient knowledge in Storage configuration (VSAN/Local Storage), Vswitch setup/configuration, resource allotment/planning, lifecycle/patching and maintaining a large environment in both the stand-alone remote site and datacenter cluster environment
  • Experience managing physical Dell Servers (T-Series/R-Series) with knowledge of setup, lifecycle controller configurations, firmware/driver maintenance with Dell OME, iDRAC setup/maintenance, fleet deployment, hardware lifecycle and updates
  • Experience supporting a large Windows 10/11 desktop end user environment, Microsoft 365 apps/services, OS configurations/troubleshooting, troubleshooting custom application deployment/configurations, windows registry experience, end user experience monitoring and desktop support
  • Experience with scripting automation tools, such as PowerShell with various SDKs (CitrixSDK, Powercli, MsGraph, etc)
  • Experience migrating large virtualization platforms between hosting centers and new technologies
  • Experience with Windows Server DHCP/DNS setup and configuration
  • Experience with Microsoft Configuration Manager (MECM) for patch deployment, collection setup for maintenance windows, user application deployment and SCCM client troubleshooting on local machines
  • Experience securing virtual machines, troubleshooting vulnerabilities and remediation on a large scale
