Please Note:
  • This is a 100% On-Site position located at Park Ridge, IL.
  • Schedule:Monday-Friday, 40 Hours/Week.

Position Summary:
The IT Manager is the lead technical and operational resource responsible for overseeing the entire IT infrastructure and user support services. This position includes direct system and network administration responsibilities, vendor coordination, project implementation, and supervision of two part-time IT Technicians. The IT Manager ensures secure, stable, and responsive IT operations across public and staff environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer and maintain the Windows Server environment (including Hyper-V virtualization).
  • Configure, monitor, and manage Fortinet firewalls, network switches, access points, and LAN/WAN infrastructure.
  • Oversee all network security protocols, patching schedules, and system update cycles to ensure compliance and protection from threats.
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison with external IT vendors
  • Manage local backups, storage solutions, recovery testing, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Supervise, schedule, and guide two part-time IT Technicians for evening and weekend support.
  • Provide technical support to staff and patrons, handling escalated service requests and issues.
  • Ensure AV systems, security systems (cameras, door access), and VoIP phone systems are operational and maintained.
  • Maintain IT asset inventory, track warranties, and support annual IT budgeting and planning.
  • Draft and maintain system documentation, procedures, and staff training materials.
  • Collaborate with leadership to maintain and update a 5-year IT infrastructure roadmap.
  • Respond to critical IT issues during business hours and coordinate off-hours maintenance.


Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Degree/Diploma in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on IT experience, including server/network administration in a production environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of:
    • Windows Server, Active Directory, and Hyper-V
    • Firewall configuration and troubleshooting (preferably Fortinet)
    • Switch management and basic Layer 2/3 networking
    • Office 365 administration and end-user support
  • Experience supporting desktop environments, printers, AV systems, and telephony.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate vendors, manage projects, and mentor staff.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Must be able to work independently and be fully onsite during operating hours.
