Role: Snowflake Developer
Location: Hybrid--Boston, MA
Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or database development.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake, including data modeling, performance tuning, and security best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience with source control tools (GitHub preferred).
- Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT tools and cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
- Experience or exposure to AI tools for data automation, analysis, or workflow enhancement.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and modern analytics practices.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience integrating Snowflake with BI/reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) is a plus.
Required Skills
- In-depth expertise in Snowflake architecture, features, and capabilities.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and Snowflake-specific query optimization techniques.
- Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT tools and data integration processes.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for data transformation and automation.
- Strong background in database design and data modeling; experience with data modeling tools is preferred.
- Ability to identify and drive continuous improvements across data pipelines, performance, and processes.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong motivation, curiosity, and a desire for continuous learning.
- Knowledge of Snowflake security capabilities, including:
- Access control and role-based security,
- Authentication and authorization,
- Encryption,
- Data masking,
- Secure views and data sharing.
- Experience working in AWS cloud environments (S3, IAM, Lambda, Glue, etc.).
- Experience with Power BI and other data visualization/reporting tools.
- Experience with business requirements gathering and translating them into scalable solutions.
- Hands-on experience with data integration solutions, data pipelines, and automation using cloud-based and on-premises tools.
- Experience integrating Snowflake with identity and access management systems (e.g., Azure IDP) is a plus.
- Experience with other RDBMS, cloud data warehouses, or big data platforms (e.g., Redshift, BigQuery, Databricks, Hadoop) is a plus.
