RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and build DevOps pipelines for data platforms, focusing on Azure environments
- Automate deployment, monitoring, and management of database services (SQL Server, Azure SQL, MongoDB, Cosmos DB)
- Collaborate with developers, architects, and DBAs to deliver database automation and provisioning solutions
- Contribute to the design of scalable data integration workflows using Azure Data Factory
- Drive improvements in CI/CD, infrastructure as code (IaC), and data operations tooling (e.g., GitLab pipelines)
- Implement observability best practices to ensure data systems health, security, and performance
REQUIREMENTS
- 8-10+ years of relevant experience in DevOps, Data Engineering, or Cloud Infrastructure roles
- Strong proficiency in Azure cloud services, including: Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, SQL Server (on-prem/cloud), Cosmos DB or MongoDB
- Strong scripting and automation with Python (especially with FastAPI framework)
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines using GitLab
- Experience implementing infrastructure-as-code and DevOps best practices
- Deep understanding of security, scalability, and cost-efficiency in cloud-native architecture
- Be able to work a minimum of 3 days on site in Raleigh, NC or Weehawken, NJ
NICE TO HAVE
- Familiarity with Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates for Azure infrastructure automation
- Experience with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of other data pipeline tools such as Databricks or Apache Airflow
- Certifications in Azure (e.g., Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Azure Solutions Architect)
