Job Title: Senior DevOps / Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

Location: Cincinnati, OH (Hybrid, Locals preferred)

Employment Type: W2 Only

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior DevOps/Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of scalable infrastructure and deployment pipelines. This role is ideal for professionals who thrive in high-availability environments and are passionate about automation, observability, and reliability engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect and manage CI/CD pipelines for seamless and secure software delivery.
  • Design and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Pulumi.
  • Build and maintain containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Monitor system performance and reliability using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, New Relic, or ELK Stack.
  • Manage cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, ensuring scalability and cost-efficiency.
  • Implement SRE principles including SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and incident response.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure systems are resilient, secure, and performant.
  • Automate operational tasks and improve system observability and alerting.
  • Lead root cause analysis and postmortem processes for production incidents.
  • Drive adoption of DevOps best practices across teams and mentor junior engineers.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or related roles.
  • Strong expertise in CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, CircleCI).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Go.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native architectures.
  • Deep understanding of Linux system administration, networking, and security.
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools.
  • Proven track record of managing high-availability, high-transaction systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio, Linkerd).
  • Familiarity with serverless architectures, event-driven systems, and message queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
  • Exposure to DevSecOps, compliance automation, and policy-as-code.
  • Certifications such as:
    • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
    • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
    • Google Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer
    • Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert
