Location: Plainfield, IL (4 days onsite, 1 day remote)
Type: W2 Contract
Pay Rate: $30-$33 per hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8 AM - 4 PM
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Financial Analyst to support the Finance & Manufacturing Operations team for a major global consumer goods company. This role provides FP&A support for multiple manufacturing sites across North America, with a strong focus on cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end reporting.
This is a hybrid role combining 40% FP&A and 60% operations finance, requiring strong analytical abilities, advanced Excel skills, and experience working with manufacturing or production environments.

About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Financial Analyst to support the Finance & Manufacturing Operations team for a major global consumer goods company. This role provides FP&A support for multiple manufacturing sites across North America, with a strong focus on cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end reporting.
This is a hybrid role combining 40% FP&A and 60% operations finance, requiring strong analytical abilities, advanced Excel skills, and experience working with manufacturing or production environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Manufacturing & Cost Analysis
- Analyze manufacturing costs for the Plainfield site, including labor, overhead, and material cost variances.
- Partner closely with operations and plant leadership to support productivity and cost-savings initiatives.
- Provide ongoing financial insights to support day-to-day plant operations.
- Support monthly forecasting and annual budgeting processes.
- Consolidate financial data for 13 manufacturing sites and prepare reporting packages.
- Perform financial modeling, variance analysis, and data interpretation for decision support.
- Prepare, maintain, and automate recurring management reports and dashboards.
- Work with Shared Services and finance teams to ensure timely and accurate month-end close.
- Review site financial submissions, validate accuracy, and reconcile key accounts.
- Maintain strong internal controls and compliance standards.
- Identify opportunities to simplify reporting and increase automation.
- Improve existing Excel and SAP-based reporting processes.
- Standardize templates and reporting formats across sites.
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- 3+ years of accounting/finance experience, preferably in manufacturing or consumer goods.
- Strong financial analysis skills and ability to manage large, complex data sets.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, formulas, data consolidation).
- SAP experience required (cost centers, GL reporting, manufacturing modules preferred).
- Strong communication skills and ability to partner with site leadership.
- Highly self-driven with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to financial stewardship.
Work Environment
- Hybrid: 4 days onsite, 1 day remote
- Day shift, 40 hours per week
- Collaborative work with multiple finance and operations teams across North America
