Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Java Architect

Location: Albany, NY

Job Type: Contractual

Duties / Responsibilities

Java Architect to support the Business Analysis and Reporting Team. The consultant will lead architecture and development efforts for Java-based applications and provide mentorship to junior developers.

Responsibilities:
  • Design graphical user interfaces and develop detailed application architecture using Java frameworks.
  • Perform systems analysis and propose enhancements to improve system performance.
  • Develop, test, debug, and deploy Java applications.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and deployment scripts.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and users to determine requirements and propose solutions.
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to secure coding standards.
  • Provide regular status updates to project managers.
  • Lead defect resolution, production fixes, and enhancements.
  • Mentor junior developers and transfer knowledge to staff.
  • Support data analytics and reporting initiatives.
  • Document all design, development, and integration activities.

Qualifications:

Candidates must meet all of the following to be considered:
  • 5+ years of experience developing and implementing Java J2SE/EE applications in a WebSphere environment.
  • 5+ years as a software/solutions architect for Java J2SE/EE on WebSphere.
  • 5+ years of experience using Agile software development methodology.
