Job Description:
Pay Range: $58.54hr - $61.54hr
  • The Market Development Representative will be responsible for engaging with potential hosts and community members to drive market growth and develop new business opportunities.
  • This role combines outbound sales, market analysis, community engagement, and strategic execution in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct market visits and on-the-ground assessments to evaluate listings, benchmark competitors, and provide actionable insights for strategic planning.
  • Execute cold outreach to prospective and churned hosts, while developing and iterating on sales strategies, pitches, and scalable playbooks.
  • Participate in neighborhood-level social groups, digital forums, and local communities to identify and engage potential hosts and influencers.
  • Build and foster relationships with industry professionals, organizers, and local leaders to uncover high-leverage opportunities.
  • Demonstrate ownership and problem-solving ability by experimenting with new strategies and rapidly prototyping operational processes.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales and Marketing teams to refine pitches and messaging based on real-time feedback.
Requirement/Must Have:
  • Strong sense of ownership, initiative, and adaptability in dynamic environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; comfortable with outreach via calls, chats, and digital communication.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills with a positive and authentic tone.
  • Passion for hospitality, real estate, and the mission to build belonging and economic opportunity.
Experience:
  • 3 5 years of experience in customer success, outbound sales, community engagement, or grassroots field operations.
  • Proven background in outbound sales or grassroots operations with successful cold outreach and business development.
  • Experience building or executing sales strategies for multi-sided marketplaces or direct-to-consumer businesses.
  • Prior experience in startup or growth-focused environments.
  • Industry experience in real estate, hospitality, or related fields is a plus.
