Job Details

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Data Analyst / Report Writer for a long-term contract to be worked ONSITE in-office in Austin, TX, (only local candidates will be considered). The successful candidate will support our client's mission to improve and ensure the quality, accuracy, and reliability of data across our systems.

In this role, you will assess and analyze data through complex transformations, identify and resolve data quality issues, and work closely with business stakeholders to document business rules and promote data integrity. You'll play a key role in enhancing the organization's data quality program and related tools and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

      • Develop, expand, and refine the enterprise data quality program.
      • Ensure compliance with data quality standards and corrective action plans.
      • Define, document, and maintain data quality rules, thresholds, and metrics.
      • Profile data for statistical analysis to evaluate and improve data quality controls.
      • Design, monitor, and continuously improve data quality processes.
      • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure clear and accurate documentation of business and technical requirements.
      • Implement and monitor controls to mitigate data quality risks.
      • Create functional/technical documentation, business glossaries, and data flow diagrams.
      • Use enterprise-grade tools and databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle) to develop complex queries and generate insights.
      • Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
      • Comply with all agency policies and perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor s degree in computer science, engineering, statistics, economics, finance, library science, or a related field.
    • 3+ years of experience in the following:
    • Creating technical documentation and business glossaries.
    • Working with enterprise databases (preferably SQL Server and Oracle).
    • Writing and optimizing complex SQL queries.
  • 2+ years of experience (within the last 5 years) in the following:
  • Developing data quality rules and metrics.
  • Using enterprise-grade data quality tools (e.g., Alteryx Data Quality, SAS Data Quality).
  • Implementing best practices in the Data Quality field.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 3+ years of experience with advanced Excel functions (VLOOKUP, macros, pivot tables).
    • 2+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server BI stack (SSIS, SSRS).
    • 1+ year of experience or familiarity with Alteryx and Tableau.
    • Knowledge of Benefits Administration, Pension Administration, or Payroll data in PeopleSoft HRMS or similar systems.
