Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and domain-driven Product Owner (PO) with a strong background in Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance to drive the successful delivery of digital products and solutions. The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, development teams, and QA to define product features, prioritize backlogs, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
This role requires a solid understanding of insurance operations, claims, underwriting, and policy servicing, along with hands-on experience in Agile methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the voice of the customer and business stakeholders for P&C insurance product development.
Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements from key insurance stakeholders.
Translate high-level business needs into detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and product backlog items.
Prioritize product features, enhancements, and bug fixes in alignment with business goals and timelines.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, QA, UX/UI, and business analysts.
Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily stand-ups as part of Agile/Scrum ceremonies.
Partner with stakeholders across underwriting, claims, policy administration, billing, and customer service to ensure product alignment with operational needs.
Monitor product performance and collaborate on product roadmaps, release plans, and go-to-market strategies.
Ensure delivery of MVPs and iterative enhancements while maintaining a focus on user experience and business value.
Required Qualifications:
12+ to 15years of experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst in the insurance domain.
Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience in Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance systems or projects.
Strong understanding of insurance workflows policy issuance, claims processing, underwriting, renewals, endorsements, etc.
Proficient in writing user stories, managing product backlogs, and conducting UAT.
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools like Jira, Confluence, Rally, or Azure DevOps.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Insurance, or a related field.
Preferred Skills:
Insurance certifications (e.g., AINS, CPCU, or equivalent).
Familiarity with insurance platforms like Guidewire, Duck Creek, or Majesco.
Exposure to data analytics, policy admin systems, or customer portals in the insurance sector.
Experience working with third-party vendors and system integrators.
