Title - QA Consultant

Location - Charlotte, NC

Duration - Contract

Individual will be a part of Swift Development Team (CIO) working with CTO Production Support Partners and Project partners.

A QA Tester is responsible for testing and delivering complex software to accomplish business outcomes. These individuals are subject matter experts on testing practices ensuring that software is tested to meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements. They help condition and generate test data, build, and execute both manual and automated test suites, record and communicate the test results, and assist with triaging defects. They also ensure regression test suites are maintained and well designed. QA Tester is an individual contributor to a team.

  • Develop detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test cases based on functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements.
  • Lead test planning, usually at a team level. When part of a Scrum team, ensure stories are well refined and contain clear acceptance criteria.
  • Ensure in-scope and out-of-scope items are clearly identified during test planning.
  • Implement the test framework for the team.
  • Lead test case reviews and work with subject matter experts and stakeholders to ensure test coverage.
  • Identify automation opportunities and develop test automation for applicable test types.
  • Help condition and generate test data and ensure data compliance requirements are met on all levels of test environments. Assist in identifying and managing sensitive test data.
  • Execute test cases, including manual and automated tests, and record test results.
  • Report issues and defects along with the appropriate background information for review.
  • Participate in triaging reported issues/defects and assist with resolving or escalating them as necessary.
  • Create and manage traceability. Trace tests forwards/backwards through the development lifecycle and back to requirements.
  • Use testing tools and follow processes to complete testing on a given test environment and assist with fulfilment of necessary steps required to promote code base to higher level environments.
  • Maintain and catalog test suites across test types (Smoke, Integration, Regression, etc.)
  • Wire Payments 3+ years of experience with Wire Payment Processing - Feedline Direct, CHIPs or SWIFT.
  • Operating Systems - 3+ years of experience with applications running on AiX or Linux operating systems.
  • Agile Delivery - 1+ years of experience with Agile project delivery.

  • Solution Delivery Process - Understands all roles and responsibilities within their team and uses the tool sets within the software lifecycle.
  • Governance Stakeholder Management - Contributes to artifacts needed for governance forums. Understands stakeholder expectations and creates regular updates to keep stakeholders informed.
  • Analytical Thinking - Develops frameworks for solving a range of complex problems. Can foresee future problems and define resolutions/new opportunities.
  • Business Products Strategy- Working knowledge of products, services, business flows and understanding of financial context in which technology and operating principles are used within their business area.
  • Solution Design - Has knowledge of software development but has not been involved in hands on application development/coding.
  • Business Products Strategy - Basic awareness of products, services, business flows and strategy.
  • Financials Resource Management - Basic understanding of financial data and the impact that their role has within a team.
  • Planning, Execution Process - Facilitates team planning ceremonies against backlog/prioritized work. Manages risk/dependencies/impediments for one team. Ability to answer teams Agile/waterfall framework questions.
  • Test Engineering - Has general awareness of testing practices but has not been involved in hands on testing.
  • DevOps Release Automation - Basic knowledge of automation and continuous delivery practices. Ability to participate in their role and utilize necessary tools with minimal guidance.
  • Application Data Architecture - Possesses an understanding of architecture and bank standards. Participates in or supports delivery of architecture designs and implementations.
  • Data Management - Has knowledge of data management practices and technologies but has not been hands on with the development of a data system.
  • Experience Design - Has a basic understanding of experience design principles and familiar with the bank brand and accessibility guidelines.
  • Promotes Collaboration - Collaborates with own team and across teams. Asks questions to obtain views from others.
  • Influence Decisions - Presents their own point of view with a clear rationale, facts and figures. Clearly displays how their proposed solution or course of action is superior to other options by using facts/evidence to support it.

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
