External and Corporate Relations Vice-Presidency (ECR)

The mission of External and Corporate Relations (ECR) is to help deliver financial and political support for the World Bank Group, strengthen the Bank Group's role as a global thought leader in development by enhancing and safeguarding its reputation, and support operational teams to achieve country outcomes. ECR manages corporate communications and global engagement with key stakeholders, including media, civil society, foundations, the private sector, donor countries, and international organizations, as well as employee engagement. ECR also manages strategic communications for the World Bank's Regions and Global Practices and leads the management of reputation risk.

The ECR Brand and Digital (ECRBD) department manages the World Bank's external corporate presence and reputation through its digital platforms and channels provides brand oversight and drives creative content development, including producing recorded and livestreamed programming for our own and external channels in support of the Bank's top priorities; and provides metrics, insights and impact analysis of our communications work.

Responsibilities

Multilingual Web Production: Set up event pages in four languages (English, French, Spanish, and Arabic) in close coordination with event organizers and under the supervision of the WB Live Lead.

Streaming Management: Operate the four streaming accounts in Restream.io and set up livestreams on multiple destination platforms across social media.

Paid Marketing: Assist with paid marketing campaigns on Meta and Google Ads in four languages, ensuring effective audience targeting and performance tracking.

Impact Measurement: Develop dashboards for the ECRBD team to analyze corporate products performance and audience engagement.

Social Media Scheduling: Manage and schedule social media posts on Facebook in English.

Event Page Guidelines: Help develop and document guidelines for creating and managing World Bank event pages to ensure consistency, usability and editorial alignment across platforms.

New Event Formats: Support and pilot the development of new event types tailored for online audiences.

Selection Criteria

Master's degree in a relevant field (communications, digital media, marketing, international relations or related discipline) with 2 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proven experience in digital communications, including web production, email and paid marketing.
Excellent writing and copyediting skills in English.
Deep knowledge of SEO best practices.
Basic knowledge of UX and web accessibility key principles.
Ability to produce Arabic content (right-to-left) using a standard CMS and/or HTML is a plus.

Core Competencies

Communication in International Development: Understanding of international development issues and the communication needs of key stakeholders, including bilateral donors, private sector entities, foundations, NGOs, and academic institutions.
Online Content Editing and Drafting: Ability to draft and edit online communications products, including event pages and marketing materials, with minimal supervision.
Online Production Tools: Proficiency with web technologies, including content management systems, social media management platforms, and streaming tools like Restream.io.
Digital Marketing and Analytics: Practical experience with online marketing strategies, including paid campaigns on Meta and Google Ads, and ability to develop dashboards for impact measurement.
Multitasking and Collaboration: Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, multilingual, and multicultural environment, coordinating with multiple stakeholders to ensure seamless event execution.

This full-time position works with the WB Live Lead and the Digital Marketing Specialist and reports to the Head of Creative and Content. The role works closely with event organizers from across the institution, the whole ECR Brand & Digital team, and external vendors to ensure effective planning and execution of WB Live and other priority events.
