Job Details

Title: Data Center Technician


Location: Madison (Canton, MS) - 100% on site.


Type: 6 months Contract


Pay: $21-$24 per hour



About the Role:



  • We are looking for a Data Center Facility Operations Specialist to oversee Data Center Engineering Facility Operations within an Data Center.

  • The role involves managing risk, conducting maintenance on critical infrastructure, handling vendor relationships, and reporting on metrics.


Required Skills:



  • Proven experience in Data Center Facility Operations.

  • Strong knowledge of critical facilities systems.

  • Ability to manage vendors and sub-contractors effectively.

  • Excellent analytical and reporting skills.

  • Proficiency in building maintenance systems and monitoring tools.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Certification in facilities management or related field is a plus.


Responsibilities:



  • Manage on-site shift technicians, senior shift technicians, sub-contractors, and vendors to ensure work is done according to established practices.

  • Establish performance benchmarks, analyze data, and prepare reports on critical facility operations and maintenance.

  • Collaborate with managers and business leaders to coordinate projects, optimize safety, performance, and efficiency.

  • Operate and manage routine and emergency services on critical facilities systems such as switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, etc.

  • Serve as the first point of contact for facilities-related issues.

  • Oversee maintenance and operations on electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment using technical procedures.

  • Adhere to safety procedures while performing work.

  • Manage ticketing queue based on priority and risk assessment.

  • Monitor equipment and site using building maintenance systems for remote monitoring.

  • Assist in facility design, build-out, and efficiency projects.

  • Manage asset and inventory.

  • Assist in recruiting efforts.

  • Ensure quality service delivery to meet customer demands.


Education Qualification:



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field.
