The Data Platform teamis a key part of BAM's continued growth, managing core data infrastructure, data systems, governance, and operations. The knowledge needed to leverage data plays an increasingly important role in the firm's core business, resulting in continued investment in data technology.
Role Overview
The Data Platform team is looking for a Data Governance lead to play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and security of our data assets. You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining data governance frameworks that support our business and investment objectives. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills to drive initiatives across the firm. The ideal candidate will have strong traditional data management experience with a passion for data technology.
Responsibilities:
- Define and implement data governance policies and best practices for data quality, discoverability, and access control.
- Create governance KPIs to measure the effectiveness of our initiatives
- Maintain and enhance our data catalog and related metadata
- Lead the ongoing cleanup and optimization of legacy data products to improve data quality
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to the policies
- Drive automation efforts related to metadata management and data lineage tracking
- Communicate data governance concepts effectively across all levels of the organization.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5+ years of experience in data governance and/or management
- Proven experience in developing and implementing data governance frameworks
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders
- Experience with data governance tools and technologies
- A passion for Data as a Product and related data technology
- Strong verbal and written communications
