Job Title: Production Support Engineer
Location: Chicago, IL
Duration: Long term Contract
Client Focus:
- Hands-on experience in Windows Server OS including Services, Event Viewer, and Task Scheduler
- Proficiency in basic SQL querying (MS SQL Server)
- Familiarity with ticketing tools such as ServiceNow and JIRA
- Strong exposure to monitoring tools including Nagios, SolarWinds, Splunk, with additional experience in Datadog and CloudWatch being a plus
- Basic PowerShell scripting capabilities (optional but beneficial)
- Strong communication and incident triage skills
- Involvement in incident management, batch job monitoring, system health checks, and collaboration with development and infrastructure teams
- Experience with support automation, application deployments, patches, and configuration changes
- Maintenance of operational documentation, runbooks, and SOPs

- Troubleshoot and resolve escalated incidents related to Windows servers and applications
- Perform root cause analysis using Windows Event Logs, IIS logs, and application logs
- Monitor and tune server and application performance
- Automate support tasks and monitoring using PowerShell scripting
- Support application deployments, patches, and configuration changes
- Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams for issue resolution
- Maintain and improve operational documentation, runbooks, and SOPs
- Proactively monitor batch jobs, Windows services, and system health
- Participate in incident management and on-call rotations
