Role Overview
This role focuses on shaping the visual language and user experience across a range of wearable technologies. You'll lead efforts to define reusable components and patterns, maintain and evolve the Figma design library, and create documentation that guides product teams in applying the system effectively. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and distribute a comprehensive library of design assets
- Create and maintain component files with detailed specifications
- Document usage guidelines and best practices for design system components
- Collaborate with product designers to explore new component variants
- Support cross-functional process development and refinement
- Maintain templates for core product screens and flows
- Coordinate task tracking and handoffs (e.g., specs to engineering, updates to internal tools)
- Troubleshoot design file issues and ensure consistency
- Participate in feedback forums and provide design guidance
- Conduct thorough design audits across platforms (iOS, Android, Web)
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in product or systems design
- Proven track record in design system development and stewardship
- Expert-level proficiency in Figma
- Skilled in Adobe Creative Cloud tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
- Experience with file management/versioning tools (Dropbox, Google Drive, GitHub)
- Strong communicator with experience training others and scaling design knowledge
- Familiarity with Apple Keynote and Google Slides
- Experience designing for native platforms (iOS, Android, macOS, Windows) and responsive web
- Basic understanding of HTML/CSS
- Detail-oriented with a systems-thinking mindset
- Comfortable navigating shifting priorities and ambiguity
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong prototyping skills
- Experience building and launching a design system
- Ability to present ideas clearly and build consensus
- Passion for advocating design systems and fostering collaboration with product teams
