Role: Google Cloud Platform Cloud Architect
Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid)Duration: 10 Months
Summary:
We’re looking for an experienced Google Cloud Architect to lead a major data migration initiative to Google Cloud Platform. You'll drive the end-to-end data migration strategy, design scalable data pipelines, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver a seamless cloud transition.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the data migration team for Google Cloud Platform migration projects
  • Design scalable, secure, and cost-effective data architectures
  • Build batch and real-time data pipelines using Google Cloud Platform tools (BigQuery, Dataflow, Composer, Pub/Sub)
  • Ensure data quality, governance, and compliance
  • Collaborate with cloud and business teams to meet project goals
  • Automate workflows and manage infrastructure using Terraform
  • Maintain documentation and support operational readiness

Required Skills:
  • 8+ years in data engineering; 3+ Google Cloud Platform data migration projects
  • Strong SQL and experience with complex ETL/ELT pipelines
  • Hands-on expertise in Google Cloud Platform tools: BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Composer
  • Proficiency in Python; Java/Scala is a plus
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, governance, and performance optimization
  • Experience with Terraform, CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins)

Preferred:
  • Based in the Chicago area or willing to commute 3 days/week
  • Proven leadership in cloud migration projects
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
