Job Summary:
As a Data Engineer, you will design, test, and maintain data pipelines for advanced analytics. You'll transform complex datasets, ensuring alignment with strategic goals. You'll collaborate with business experts and IT to deliver crucial insights in adherence to information best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Apply lean thinking and tools to identify and eliminate waste in all areas of the position
- Assist in the preparation, deployment, and maintenance of machine learning/artificial intelligence data pipelines
- Automate data wrangling from a wide variety of sources (APIs, databases, flat files, legacy systems, message queues, remote servers, and more)
- Cleanse/transform data in preparation for all levels of analytical use
- Identify opportunities to improve system and business process efficiencies
- Leverage many technologies and methodologies as required-includes scripting and programming languages
- Work with vendors and consultants as appropriate.
Qualifications (required)
- 3+ years' experience in: Applied SQL development, Data warehousing/analytics, and Data engineering/equivalency
- 1+ years of IBM Cloud experience or equivalent IBM certification
- Ability to:
- Be an analytical / big picture thinker
- Interact well with others and communicate across teams
- Present technical ideas to the business
- Problem solve
- Bachelor's degree in applicable field
- Cloud Pak for Data
- Db2 Warehouse
- Effective interpersonal skills, with positive professional verbal and written skills
- Proficient in object-oriented concepts with experience in C#, Java, or Python
- Watsonx platform(s)
Qualifications (preferred)
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
- Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
- Effective project management and planning skills
- IBM Data Engineer certification
Additional
- Ability to work flexible hours; may include evening and weekend hours as needed
- Occasional overnight travel one to three nights per quarter for company meetings. Must have ability to travel independently as needed, without restriction by all modes of transportation.
