Overview:

We are seeking a Senior QA Tester who will support the State of New York on the Integrated Eligibility Systems (IES) project. The Senior QA Tester will play a vital part in overseeing and managing quality assurance activities across high-impact public sector IT projects, beginning with the Eligibility, Enrollment, and Case Management (EECM) component. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership skills, deep experience in test strategy and automation, and a track record of ensuring enterprise-level software meets rigorous quality standards.

Duties:

• Lead QA activities in alignment with the IES Program testing strategy and quality assurance processes.

• Supervise and coordinate a blended team of State and vendor QA analysts.

• Create, maintain, and guide the development of automated test scripts and test automation frameworks.

• Oversee test planning, execution, defect management, and the creation of comprehensive testing documentation.

• Collaborate with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and leadership to ensure testing aligns with business requirements.

• Review vendor deliverables to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with QA standards.

• Generate and deliver reports and dashboards related to testing progress, results, and defect metrics.

• Manage test environments, test data, and test accounts to support optimal testing practices.

• Coordinate with performance and security testing teams to ensure full QA coverage.

• Support additional IES program areas and initiatives as needed.

Mandatory Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience working on complex projects with 2 or more years in a leadership role as a Tester.

• 7+ years of work experience in quality assurance, managing testing across multiple high-profile projects, with complex functional domains, within a matrix organization.

• 5+ years of work experience reporting and presenting to stakeholders and senior management.

• 7+ years of work experience developing testing products including test plans, test cases, automated test scripts and defect reporting documentation.

• 3+ years of work experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium., Katalon etc.

• 3+ years of work experience with defect tracking and test planning tools such as Jira, Jira-related plug-ins or HP Application Lifecycle Management/Quality Center.

• 3+ years of work experience in java scripting or related programing languages within the context of developing automated test script solutions.

• 3+ years of work experience supervising teams of quality analysts.

• 3+ years of work experience leading and facilitating meetings, workgroups, etc.

• 3+ years of work experience creating reports and dashboards for test metrics using Jira or other tools.

• 3+ years of work experience managing the defect lifecycle including defect creation, monitoring and status reporting as well as retesting defect fixes.

• 2+ years' work experience coordinating with performance testing teams or security testing teams.

• 2+ years of work experience with Eligibility, Enrollment and Case Management related systems.
