Zions Bancorporation is currently looking for an experienced Data Scientist to join our Enterprise Data Science team. This role focuses on delivering insight from data that is actionable and will drive revenue growth, cost reduction, and meet new regulatory requirements. The team works on strategic projects with tactical components that aim to drive all business decisions to be data driven.

The Data Scientist will be responsible for end-to-end AI/ML projects, including:
  • Understanding business objectives and translating them into data-driven solutions
  • Discovering, cleaning, and transforming large-scale structured and unstructured data
  • Designing, training, and validating machine learning and deep learning models
  • Performing advanced statistical and predictive analyses to generate actionable insights
  • Implementing Generative AI and LLM-based solutions where applicable
  • Designing, developing, and maintaining production-grade ML pipelines and AI applications using MLOps best practices (CI/CD, model monitoring, retraining)
  • Leveraging cloud platforms (Google Cloud Platform Vertex AI preferred, AWS, Azure) for scalable model deployment and orchestration
  • Ensuring model performance, reliability, and compliance in production environments

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics or other related area of study; Masters degree in same area is preferred
  • Experience developing and deploying Generative AI applications.
  • Strong experience with predictive modeling, machine learning, and deep learning algorithms
  • Strong Python programming skills (scikit-learn, PyTorch, LangGraph)
  • Experience in relational databases (PostgreSQL, Cloud SQL) and vector databases for AI applications
  • Experience with major cloud platforms (Google Cloud Platform preferred, AWS, Azure) for training, deploying and managing ML solutions
  • Hands on MLOps experience is highly desirable with an appreciation of end-to-end CI/CD process
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and leadership skills - able to present insights clearly to all levels, lead projects, and work in a consultative role.
  • Collaborative and self-driven - skilled at training others, coordinating across teams, and delivering results independently under tight deadlines.
