Description

SAIC is seeking a highly motivated Electrical Engineer to support the operations of a multifaceted organization at NSWC Crane that provides unique design solutions and technical excellence in the areas of Kinetic effects, Unmanned systems, and Rapid system integration.

JOB DESCRIPTION
  • The incumbent will have the opportunity to collaborate with other professionals, to solve technical problems, and engineer sound solutions in a fast-paced / safety critical environment. Will have the opportunity to serve in a capacity responsible for contributing to various projects, including all aspects of the product life cycle from concept to fielding. All while having the opportunity to help build and maintain strategic relationships with customers and industry partners.

JOB RESPONSIBILITES:
  • Generating proposals and presentations; drafting hardware, firmware, and software flowcharts; writing a bill of materials; modeling and simulating vehicle communication, navigation, and power systems in programs such as MATLAB
  • Developing circuit schematics
  • Completing printed circuit board (PCB) layouts
  • Maturing embedded systems
  • Programming in Python, C, C++, C#, and Java
  • Running translation services on system-on-modules
  • Arranging TCP/IP network diagrams
  • Troubleshooting software and communication meshes using network diagnostic tools
  • Evaluating electrical and electronic system integrity using a combination of oscilloscopes and logic analyzers
  • Creating test plans
  • Formalizing demonstration plans
  • Reporting and maturing technical data packages (TDP).

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:
  • Bachelor's degree of Science in the areas of electrical and electronics engineering or computer engineering is required for this position with two (2) or more years of experience.
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively to a variety of audiences in oral or written formats.
  • Significant and recent technical product development experience with a background in design and development of electronic subsystems including generating hardware architectures, designing electronic circuits and schematics, completing PCB layouts, microcontroller programming, embedded system design, and maturing product data packages to support prototyping, testing, and production efforts.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft office (Outlook, Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to obtain a secret clearance. No clearance required to start. SAIC will sponsor the clearance process.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Project management experience
  • Ability in Circuitry/Schematic Development software. i.e Altium
  • Experience in rapidly developed and safety critical systems
  • Unmanned systems experience such as pilot's licenses and integration
  • Communications systems experience, i.e. radio (RF) and satellite links
  • Autonomous Systems experience in perception and path planning
  • Experience with embedded systems including firmware architecture, initial development, testing, and debugging, and maturing codebases to a production-ready level.
  • Capability to assist with soldering, PCB prototyping, schematic layout, wiring to develop functional prototypes.
  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
  • DoD engineering experience
