Description :
This is an ITQuality Assurance (QA) position responsible forperforming IS work that plays a critical role in ensuring that the Department of Revenues (DOR) QA practices, processes, and procedures are well-conceived so that the Division of Technology Services (DTS) implements high quality systems that support the work of DOR. The position is responsible for the development and execution of test cases, and test scripts, reviewing and analyzing system specifications, work with the development team in performing QA analysis, and striving to continually learn and understand latest software testing methodologies and tools.
This position works with a variety of DOR, other State agency, and vendor personnel in accomplishing job duties.
This position performs work under general review of the SLF (State and Local Finance) Business Applications Development Management Information Chief with objectives and priorities established by overall work unit directives.
TIME % GOALS AND WORKER ACTIVITIES (Line 15)
80% A. Performance of QA tasks for assigned projects.
A1. Assist a development team with the documentation of business and technical requirements for projects so that test cases and scripts can be directly associated with a requirement.
A2. Review project and system documentation and participate in user training to learn the navigation, functions, and requirements of the system(s) to be tested.
A3. Develop and review test strategies, test plans, and project test plans.
A4. Create, execute, and maintain test cases, test scripts, automated test scripts, and test procedures.
A5. Document test results, provide the development group with detailed defect information or identify quality issuesto assist them in problem resolution, and track defects through resolution. Provide the development project manager with regular QA task updates.
A6. Participate in walkthroughs and reviews as defined by the QA test plan. Ensure that deliverables are prepared in accordance with Department standards.
A7. Perform assigned tasks related to the release verification and promotion process.
A8. Lead the definition and collection of project metrics that can be used to improve the DOR QA processes and procedures.
20% B.Establish ongoing improvement of QA practices, processes, and procedures for DOR IT projects.
B1. Participate in the development of effective and efficient processes and procedures for providing QA to DOR IT projects.
B2. Participate inthe effort to integrate QA practices, processes, and procedures into the systems development life cycle. Provide QA practice, process, and tools mentoring to DOR staff and other QA team members.
B3. Maintain a QA environment with software tools that support test planning, test automation, code coverage, and defect tracking.
B4. Educate the DOR business units regarding QA and implementation issues related to software and/or hardware.
