Job Title: Product Manager
Location: Des Moines, IA
Duration: contract
About the Role:
We are seeking a strategic and customer-centric Product Manager to lead the development and optimization of digital experiences and core workflows within our Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance product line. You will drive the product roadmap, improve customer satisfaction, and collaborate cross-functionally with underwriting, claims, engineering, design, and compliance teams.
This role requires deep knowledge of P&C insurance products, user experience best practices, and a strong grasp of regulatory and operational frameworks that govern the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for P&C customer experiences — from discovery to delivery and iteration.
- Develop and maintain a product roadmap aligned with company goals, user needs, and market trends.
- Collaborate with UX, engineering, and data teams to launch features that enhance the quoting, policy management, and claims experience.
- Ensure product compliance with regulatory requirements in all operating jurisdictions.
- Partner with underwriting and claims teams to streamline internal processes and improve customer outcomes.
- Conduct market research, user interviews, and competitor analysis to inform product decisions.
- Define success metrics and KPIs; regularly monitor and report on performance.
- Advocate for the voice of the customer and use feedback loops to refine product offerings.
- Lead agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, backlog grooming, retrospectives) as a key member of the product team.
- Champion product innovation with a balance of user empathy and business impact.
Qualifications:
Required:
- 3–6 years of product management experience, ideally in P&C insurance environment.
- Proven success in launching and managing digital insurance products or workflows.
- Strong understanding of P&C lines (homeowners, renters, auto, commercial, etc.) and their lifecycle (quote, bind, service, claims).
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in agile environments.
- Strong analytical skills and comfort using data to drive decisions (experience with tools like SQL, Tableau, Amplitude, etc. is a plus).
- Excellent communication skills — able to translate complex ideas into clear plans and compelling narratives.
