Role: Workstation Vulnerability Remediation
Location: Madison, WI (Remote)
Contract
Key Responsibilities:
- Vulnerability Assessment:
- Conduct regular vulnerability scans using tools like Qualys, Cisco vulnerability Management (Kenna) and SCCM.
- Identify and classify vulnerabilities in systems, networks, and applications.
- Analyze vulnerability scan results and provide detailed reports on identified issues.
- Risk Analysis:
- Prioritize vulnerabilities based on risk level, severity, and potential business impact.
- Assess the effectiveness of current security controls and recommend improvements.
- Remediation & Mitigation:
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement remediation actions and mitigate identified risks.
- Track progress and ensure timely resolution of vulnerabilities.
- Reporting & Documentation:
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation on vulnerability management processes and findings.
- Prepare detailed reports for senior management, highlighting critical vulnerabilities and remediation efforts.
- Vulnerability Management Program Development:
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the organization's vulnerability management processes.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for vulnerability management tasks.
- Compliance & Standards:
- Assist in audit preparation and support compliance efforts related to vulnerability management.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with other security teams, system administrators and end users to address vulnerabilities and ensure appropriate fixes are in place.
Required Skills & Qualifications:

- 4+ years of experience in vulnerability management, information security, or related field.
- Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (e.g. Qualys, Cisco vulnerability management).
- Strong understanding of security concepts, protocols, and network architecture.
- Technical Skills:
- PowerShell scripting, Windows workstation troubleshooting
- Workstation OS administration Windows 10 and 11
- Remote troubleshooting Windows Workstation (Physical and VDI)
- SCCM Packaging
- Experience with vulnerability scanning, patch management, and security monitoring tools.
- Familiarity with IT risk management and remediation processes.
- Basic knowledge of operating systems (Linux, Windows), networking, and application security.
- Certifications (preferred, but not required):
- Microsoft Certifications for Office 365, Windows workstation, Azure, VMware
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
