SASE Core Network Engineer – Denver, CO/Remote

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) Core Network Engineer to join our IT infrastructure team. This role is responsible for the design, implementation, optimization, and support of secure, scalable, cloud-based networking solutions that integrate networking and security services under the SASE framework. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in cloud networking, SD-WAN, network security, and zero trust architectures.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement end-to-end SASE architecture, integrating networking and security capabilities (e.g., SD-WAN, CASB, ZTNA, FWaaS).
  • Lead the deployment and configuration of core SASE components across cloud and on-prem environments.
  • Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and application teams to align SASE policies with enterprise security standards and performance requirements.
  • Monitor and optimize SASE platform performance, ensuring high availability, reliability, and security of the network.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues within the SASE environment, including connectivity, authentication, and policy enforcement.
  • Manage vendor relationships with SASE solution providers (e.g., Zscaler, Palo Alto Prisma, Cisco Umbrella, Netskope).
  • Develop documentation and operational runbooks for SASE services and network integrations.
  • Support secure remote access, branch connectivity, and cloud interconnectivity initiatives.

 Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in network engineering, with 2+ years focused on SASE or SD-WAN technologies.
  • Strong understanding of SASE concepts and experience with one or more SASE platforms (Zscaler, Netskope, Palo Alto Prisma Access, etc.).
  • Proficient in network protocols (BGP, OSPF, IPSec, DNS, HTTP/S, etc.) and network security fundamentals.
  • Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) and integrations with SASE services.
  • Hands-on experience with zero trust network access (ZTNA) solutions and remote access technologies.
  • Familiarity with automation tools and scripting (e.g., Terraform, Python) is a plus.

 Preferred Certifications:

  • SASE-specific certifications (e.g., Zscaler Certified Cloud Professional, Palo Alto Networks PCNSE)
  • Cisco (CCNP/CCIE), CompTIA Security+, or equivalent security/network certifications
