Job Description
ABM Industries is seeking a Field Service Technician (NETA 2+ or NICET or equivalent experience) to join our Electrical Power Services team. The Electrical Field Test Technician is responsible for the safe and efficient installation and testing of electrical power distribution equipment for customers in the assigned territory. In this role, you will travel approximately 50% of the time, working both independently and with a crew, and handle the performance and management of routine, moderately complex, and complex tasks and projects, record-keeping, evaluation of test data, and preparation of field service reports.

Essential Functions
\nTravel to customer sites to inspect, test, troubleshoot, perform start-up and collect data on electrical systems.
\nSupervise Trainees, Assistants, and Technicians in the completion of electrical testing duties.
\nObserve testing, assign work on projects to capable technicians, ensure testing of similar items is consistent across test technicians
\nTrack project scope completion and communicate ABM and Customer Management
\nMaintain, test, repair, rebuild, and replace low, medium, and high-voltage switchgear and circuit breakers.
\nTroubleshoot automatic transfer switches.
\nTest and inspect low, medium, and high-voltage cable installations.
\nMaintain, test, and repair transformers and related equipment.
\nTest and calibrate solid-state and electromechanical relays.
\nPerform relay calibration and power metering.
\nConduct low and medium-voltage motor control center and contractor testing.
\nStart-up, troubleshoot, and repair generator controls and transfer schemes.
\nTest and commission protection and control systems on high voltage substations.
\nSample and interpret insulated fluids.
\nComplete Job Hazard Analyses including but not limited to arc-flash and shock analyses
\nReview and submit timecards, expense, and project reports.
\nDocument test results and complete field reports.
\nRotate emergency on-call duty.
\nMaintain strict compliance with regulatory laws
\nAssist in the sales process acting as the technical expert in electrical testing and maintenance of electrical equipment

Qualifications
\nMust have a minimum of 5 years experience in electrical testing.
\nThe candidate should have experience working with a team.
\nExperience in working on projects
\nFamiliar with NETA Acceptance and Maintenance Testing Standards
\nFamiliar with NFPA70E Electrical Safety standards
\nAbility to troubleshoot electrical performance deficiencies
\nAbility to travel regionally 50%
\nKnowledgeable in lockout/tag-out and hazardous energy control procedures.
\nClean Driving Record and Drug-Free

Preferred Qualifications
\nFamiliar with NETA Acceptance and Maintenance Testing Standards
\nHold a current NETA Level 2, 3, IV or NICET or equivalent testing experience
