Job Details

Job Summary:
Seeking a detail-oriented Technical Writer to help update and standardize around 300 internal job aids. This role involves applying a new Word template, editing for clarity and consistency, and ensuring accessibility compliance.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Edit and format documents in Microsoft Word

  • Apply plain language and accessibility standards (e.g., alt text, headings)

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts

  • Prepare documents for SharePoint publishing

  • Track progress and status of documents

Required Skills:

  • Strong writing/editing and MS Word formatting skills

  • Knowledge of digital accessibility (Section 508, WCAG 2.1)

  • Experience using Adobe Acrobat Pro for PDF accessibility

  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with technical content (job aids, SOPs, etc.)

  • Familiarity with plain language and SharePoint

  • Knowledge of PDF remediation tools (e.g., CommonLook)

  • Interest in training or adult learning environments
