Job Details

Job Title:- Network Security Engineer (Firewall Administrator)

Location:- Houston, TX 77002 (Hybrid)

Job Type:- Long Term Contract

Need Local Only

Skills:

  • Must be able to work in the Downtown Houston office as needed by the work team
  • Must have or be able to obtain, the appropriate passport and visas as needed. Ability to travel (up to 60% per calendar year) to locations around the world for implementations/deployments (North America, Africa, Australia, Asia). Deployments could be as many as 5-10 per year.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with Safeguard Development & Implementation Teams, Product Lines, and Business Unit stakeholders to implement Micro-segmentation (Networking Subzone) within our PCN environments.
  • Must be able to capture & analyze user & program requirements to in order to execute the design, testing, validation and implementation of optimal VLAN & firewall configurations to meet those requirements.
  • Other responsibilities include facilitating implementation engagements with BUs to deploy subsequent zones and/or firewall configurations in support of Cyberwise Safeguard releases.

Skills Requirement:

Technical:

  • Firewall design and administration experience preferred (Cisco, Palo Alto), including being able to create technical design documentation (HLD, LLD, Network Diagrams, Firewall configuration templates, Data Flow Diagrams)
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Purdue Model and/or Zones and Conduits security models.
  • Working experience of Software Defined Network (SDN), Network Function virtualization (NFV) and Cloud applications
  • Hands-on experience with switching and routing operation, design, and troubleshooting for Enterprise or Industrial networks (Cisco)
  • Soft: Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage ones time.
  • Knowledge of the full system development lifecycle: from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification, to development, integration, testing and delivery. Ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issues.

Years of Experience:

5+ years Network/Systems Administration specializing in:

  • Firewalls
  • Cisco devices
  • Network Security
  • VPNs
  • LAN/WAN connectivity
  • TCP/IP Windows
  • 1+ years PCN/OT Experience (preferred but not required)

Education:

  • Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology.
