Job Title: Lead Engineer - Network - FTS

Location: Jacksonville, FL or Alpharetta, GA or Berkley Heights, NJ

Hybrid(3 days/week onsite)

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Lead Network Engineer to oversee the design, implementation, and management of our enterprise network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in networking technologies, excellent problem-solving skills, and the leadership ability to guide a team of network engineers and ensure high availability, security, and scalability of all network systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance LAN, WAN, WLAN, and cloud-based network architectures.
  • Lead a team of network engineers and serve as the highest point of escalation for critical network issues.
  • Develop and enforce network architecture standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues using tools like SolarWinds, Wireshark, Nagios, etc.
  • Manage relationships with vendors, ISPs, and third-party service providers.
  • Ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards across all network assets.
  • Drive initiatives such as network modernization, cloud connectivity (AWS, Azure), SD-WAN deployments, and data center transitions.
  • Conduct risk assessments and lead business continuity and disaster recovery planning for networking.
  • Plan and execute firmware, software upgrades, and hardware refreshes.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation, including topology diagrams, configurations, and SOPs.
  • Collaborate closely with the cybersecurity, DevOps, and IT operations teams to align network infrastructure with organizational goals.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 8 10+ years of experience in network engineering with progressive responsibility.
  • Proven hands-on experience with routing/switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), firewalls, load balancers, and VPNs.
  • Deep knowledge of Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, Fortinet, or Palo Alto network hardware.
  • Strong experience with SD-WAN, NAC, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and network segmentation.
  • Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS/Azure VPN, Direct Connect, ExpressRoute).
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in network automation using tools like Ansible, Python, Terraform.
  • Knowledge of Zero Trust Architecture, NIST, or ISO 27001 frameworks.
  • Experience with hybrid cloud networking and multi-site enterprise environments.
  • ITIL Foundation, CISSP, or PMP certifications are a plus.
