Contract 12+

Test Strategy Lead to oversee all elements of the test strategy for our critical migration to the new ICE-MSP mortgage servicing platform. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in ensuring a successful and seamless transition to a modern servicing environment, safeguarding our operations and customer experience.

As the Test Strategy Lead, you will be responsible for the comprehensive planning, execution oversight, and reporting of all testing activities related to the ice-msp platform migration. You will leverage your deep understanding of software testing methodologies, risk-based testing approaches, and the intricacies of financial systems to ensure the migrated platform meets our stringent standards for functionality, data integrity, performance, security, and usability.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Development and Implementation of the Test Strategy: Own and drive the overall test strategy for the ice-msp platform migration, ensuring alignment with project goals, timelines, and business objectives.
  • Oversee All Testing Activities: Manage and coordinate all phases of testing, including functional, non-functional, integration, end-to-end, data migration, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Risk-Based Testing Approach: Implement and manage a risk-based testing methodology, prioritizing testing efforts on critical functionalities and high-risk areas.
  • Test Planning and Design Oversight: Supervise the creation of detailed test plans, test scenarios, and test cases, ensuring comprehensive coverage of both batch processing and real-time API interactions.
  • Test Environment and Data Management: Collaborate with IT and relevant teams to ensure the timely setup and maintenance of appropriate test environments and the availability of realistic and secure test data.
  • Test Execution and Defect Management: Oversee the execution of test cases, monitor test results, and manage the defect lifecycle, ensuring timely resolution of identified issues.
  • Test Automation Strategy: Drive the development and implementation of a robust test automation strategy, particularly for regression testing and API validation.
  • Performance and Security Testing Focus: Ensure adequate planning and execution of performance testing to validate the platform's scalability and stability, as well as security testing to protect sensitive data.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with IT personnel, business stakeholders from the mortgage servicing division, development teams, and the testing team to ensure clear communication and effective collaboration throughout the testing lifecycle.
  • Reporting and Metrics: Develop and maintain comprehensive test reports and key metrics to track testing progress, platform quality, and identify potential risks or roadblocks.
  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Coordination: Facilitate and support the User Acceptance Testing phase, ensuring business users can effectively validate the platform meets their needs and expectations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and refine the test strategy and processes to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and overall quality assurance for the ice-msp platform.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in software testing, with a significant portion dedicated to leading test efforts for complex, large-scale system migrations or implementations, preferably within the financial services or mortgage industry.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing comprehensive test strategies, particularly for platforms with both batch and real-time processing components.
  • Strong understanding of various software testing methodologies, levels, and types (functional, non-functional, integration, end-to-end, UAT).
  • Experience with risk-based testing approaches and prioritizing testing efforts based on business impact and risk.
  • Demonstrated experience in overseeing the creation of detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
  • Knowledge of test automation frameworks and tools, with experience in driving test automation initiatives.
  • Experience with performance testing and security testing methodologies and tools.
  • Strong understanding of data migration testing principles and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail).
  • Familiarity with mortgage servicing processes and regulations is highly desirable.
