You will work on a fast-paced, innovation-driven team focused on modernizing and enhancing web applications for commercial use. Their mission is to deliver scalable, high-performance solutions that integrate cutting-edge technologies and provide seamless user experiences.
As a Ruby Developer, you will play a key role in transforming our web applications using Ruby on Rails, modern front-end frameworks, and robust API integrations. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to build scalable systems, implement real-time features, and support continuous deployment in a dynamic development environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scalable web applications using Ruby on Rails
- Build and integrate RESTful APIs (internal and third-party)
- Implement front-end solutions using React, Vue, or similar frameworks
- Shift rendering from server-side to client-side where applicable
- Write and maintain unit tests using RSpec and TDD principles
- Collaborate with QA teams to ensure high-quality modular deployments
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and support frequent production releases
- Manage containerized workflows using Docker and Terraform
- Monitor application performance with New Relic and AWS CloudWatch
- Work with WebSockets to enable real-time communication features
- Participate in ongoing upgrades of the Rails framework
Job Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of experience with Ruby on Rails development
- Experience with Rails 5 and readiness to upgrade to 7.2 or 8
- Strong background in eCommerce platforms and third-party integrations
- Proficiency in RESTful API development (client and server-side)
- Experience with front-end frameworks (React, Vue, etc.)
- Familiarity with RSpec and test-driven development
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modular deployments
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with AWS migration and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform)
- Familiarity with cloud monitoring tools (New Relic, AWS CloudWatch)
- Proficiency with Docker for containerized workflows
- Experience with WebSocket protocols (Solid Cable preferred)
