Job Title: SD-WAN Network Engineer - 244234
Work Location: Hybrid Onsite - Hartford, CT
Travel: 10-15% of the time around Hartford, potentially an occasional out of state trip|Position Type: Contract to Hire (4-6 months)
Full Time Salary Target: $115,000 - $130,000 / year
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Working in a Data Center environment to help migrate and refresh enterprise networking hardware and configurations, with a focus towards SD-WAN automation and PaloAlto Firewalls
- Day to day will include a mixture of tickets (25-30%) and projects (~75%)
- A major project is a data center migration project, which will include implementing new PaloAlto SD-WAN and Next-Generation Firewalls - NGFW.
- Strong Palo Alto SD-WAN and firewall skills (must be able to troubleshoot, program, and set up firewalls, including setting up VPNs).
- This individual will also be Implementing, configuring and supporting Cisco Data Center Switches (Nexus) and Cisco Wireless Infrastructure
- This role is an Engineer, but will be called on to support lower-level areas such as hardware replacements, patching and cabling, as needed
- This role will also be providing technical troubleshooting and support for connectivity issues within the AWS and Azure multi-cloud environment
- This individual is responsible for using monitoring tools (ie, Solarwinds) for monitoring and assessing network performance, as well as ticketing tools (ServiceNow) to stay on top of issues.
- This role will include between 10-15% local travel around the Hartford, CT area, and potentially out of state.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be local to the Hartford, CT area
- 7-10+ years of professional experience
- Cisco CCNP/CCIE or DevNet Certification is highly preferred
- Strong hands-on experience with PaloAlto SD-WAN and Firewalls
- Cisco Nexus Switches and VLAN configuration
- AWS or Azure Cloud experience preferred
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Candidates must reside within the greater Hartford, CT area and be willing to work onsite at multiple locations across town.
