Senior Backend Engineer

Our client is looking to fill the role of Senior Backend Software Engineer. This position will be fully remote.As a key member of the engineering team your focus will be on building scalable solutions in collaboration with internal team members and key external strategic partners. Our technology partners are the world's leading players connecting people, communities, and businesses around the world. Your work will focus on expanding the functionality and capabilities of our core platforms through innovative solutions. Responsibilities:

• Implement and maintain web applications across the stack using Node.js and TypeScript, including backend express services and React clients.
• Liaise with Product Strategy and Product Team leadership to understand Roadmap priorities, provide guidance on the best technical solution for initiatives and optimal team resources to align against said initiatives.
• Collaborate across team members to produce loosely coupled, highly maintainable backend systems.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify requirements, iterate functionality, and contribute to the overall success of the product.
• Plan, estimate, and prioritize work in a remote, distributed team environment.

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years' experience in full stack web development.
• Proficient in Node.js, JavaScript, and Typescript technologies.
• Proficient building React web applications.
• Proficient in relational databases (MariaDB/MySQL preferred).
• Familiar with in-memory data-stores (Redis, Memcached).
• Experience building REST services (Express).
• Experience with GraphQL services (Apollo).
• Familiarity with React storybook / component driven development.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
• 5+ years' experience in full stack web development.
• Familiarity with functional programming and Software design patterns.
• Understanding of asynchronous operations.
• Experience building Python services (Flask, FastAPI).
• Experience with pub-sub and queue-based messaging systems (Kafka, Redis).
• Experience building microservice architecture at scale.
• Experience working with agile development methodologies.
