The Software Build & Integration team at Apple is at the core of the Apple software development process. We are responsible for delivering the state-of-the-art operating systems and applications to Apple customers. The role empowers Configuration Tools Engineers to influence how we build software at scale by collaborating with the wider Build and Integration team as well as engineers from Software, Hardware, Localization, QA, and Project Management teams. Configuration Tools Engineers will have the opportunity to utilize and implement solutions using distributed computing, cloud services, and virtualization technologies to improve the build system that delivers Apple software to customers. This involves engineering innovative solutions for Apple's production build system in support of macOS, iOS, watchOS, tvOS, Xcode, and more!
Description - Plan and develop automation to ensure scale, security, and UX improvements for the Operational team - Evaluate tradeoffs of all solutions for a problem, and align on the best approach with stakeholders - Utilize all available data to ensure the best possible solution - Gather requirements for enabling Software Engineering's features in the builds, align on cross functional goals, and communicate ongoing strategy - Strong accountability to future success of customers, looking to plan scaleable workflows with organizational goals in mind - Work with operational team to ensure deployment and ongoing use of automation - Track KPIs ensuring success enabling Apple's ongoing development

Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $134,800 and $245,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Minimum Qualifications
- macOS, iOS, or UNIX development experience.
- Programming in Python or Swift
- Excellent customer collaboration and communication skills
- Demonstrated data driven decision making
Preferred Qualifications
- Automation development experience surrounding high scale operations
- Web systems development or web application development experience
- Ability to build testing suites ensuring no regressions
- Proficiency with git or other version control
