Job Details

Sirius Staffing is seeking a Network Engineer for a 6-month onsite contract opportunity in Lutz, FL. This role supports a large-scale utility environment, maintaining and optimizing network performance across multiple locations.
Summary: The Network Engineer will design, implement, and manage the organization s network infrastructure, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability. This role oversees Cisco network technologies, manages a high-performing technical team, and ensures security, compliance, and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement and manage LAN, WAN, SDN, and OT network infrastructure.
  • Deploy and maintain Cisco routers, switches, and wireless access points.
  • Proactively monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize network performance.
  • Lead the Technology Network team recruiting, training, and managing performance.
  • Track KPIs, SLAs, and metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop and enforce network security policies and compliance standards.
  • Manage network budgets, vendor relationships, and contract negotiations.
  • Drive operational excellence through process optimization and automation.
  • Perform patching and upgrades for Cisco routers and switches.
  • Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure across power plants, solar fields, and control centers.
  • Replace and configure routers and switches at multiple client sites.
  • Collaborate with server and storage teams for seamless integration.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to servers, DDoS protection, and load balancing.
  • Provide project leadership and security consultation
Qualifications:
  • Experience: 8 10 years in network design, implementation, and support of Cisco devices.
  • Expertise in network management and operations.
  • Working knowledge of cloud, compute, and storage environments.
  • Familiarity with ITIL and vendor management best practice.
  • Strong budgeting and cost management experience.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Cisco routers, switches, and wireless access points
    • Patching and upgrading Cisco equipment
    • Router/switch configuration and break-fix troubleshooting
  • Preferred: Experience in data center architecture, OT, or utility/energy industry environments.
  • Supervisory Experience: Minimum 3 years leading or managing network teams.
  • Certifications (Preferred): CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE.
Preferred:
  • Strong IP and SDN networking skills
  • Strong leadership abilities
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements
  • Familiarity with network licensing optimization
  • Familiarity with cloud-based network solutions and services
  • Keeping up to date with advances in technology and industry best practice.
