We are looking for a skilled Network Engineer to join a dynamic IT services organization based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This permanent, onsite position offers a competitive benefits package and opportunities for skill development.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in network technologies and a proactive approach to designing, implementing, and maintaining robust network solutions.
Responsibilities:
Design, configure, and implement network solutions using Fortinet, Cisco, and other leading technologies.
Manage and monitor network performance, ensuring reliability and optimal operation.
Perform installations and upgrades of hardware and software for routers, firewalls, and switches.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, including those related to BGP and configuration management.
Maintain and secure data centers by implementing best practices and backup technologies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless network integration and operation.
Provide technical expertise in managing Fortinet firewalls, including FortiGate systems.
Document network configurations, processes, and changes for future reference.
Conduct regular testing of network systems to ensure stability and security.
Stay updated on the latest network technologies and recommend improvements as needed.
Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Network Engineer or in a related role.
Proficiency with Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and configuration management tools.
Hands-on experience with Cisco technologies, including routers, ASA firewalls, and switches.
Familiarity with Fortinet firewalls, particularly FortiGate, and Checkpoint systems.
Knowledge of datacenter operations and backup technologies.
Strong understanding of computer hardware and network infrastructure.
Ability to troubleshoot complex networking issues and deliver effective solutions.
Excellent communication and documentation skills for technical processes.
